Societies devoted to Willem Mengelberg

The aim of the "Willem Mengelberg Vereniging", founded on February 13th 1987, is to promote the memory of the Dutch conductor Willem Mengelberg. It publishes a journal four times a year, which contains articles, mainly in Dutch, about Willem Mengelberg, the Concertgebouw Orchestra and other orchestras he conducted, soloists and musicians who played with him, composers and conductors who had contact with him... The society organizes at least one meeting every year, during which places of particular musical interest are visited, or people who played under Mengelberg are interviewed.

The society does not issue recordings.
