And yet he locks the feeling into his heart and never forgets about it. All his actions are dedicated to it, always watching over his beloved one, taking care of what she does and even says and thus prevents the impulsive Oscar from getting into trouble too often. He is the voice of reason in the 'couple' and often helps Oscar to make the right decision.
In the end he dies fulfilling an oath he made a long time ago - he dies
giving his life for Oscar, shielding her with his own body from enemy shots.
And he parts with this world smiling, because he knows that she loves him
and that he gave his life so she could live.
