About Paulton
Paulton is a village in Somerset, just south of historic Bath. The name is derived from the Saxon, and Roman remains have been found in the Village. The village grew substantially during the Industrial Revolution, as it formed part of the North Somerset coalfield. To get the coal to London, in the nineteenth century the Somerset Coal Canal was built - the line of this can still be traced despite the efforts of a local farmer.
