The Art of Flamenco Dance

Flamenco dancer Celia Clara is a native of Chicago, where she first studied flamenco guitar before beginning her career in flamenco dance. She began her studies of Flamenco, Spanish classical and Folkloric dance in Madrid with world famous teachers Ciro, La Tati, Paco Romero and Azorin. She has also studied with Antonio Canales and Carmela Greco most recently.
Ms. Clara toured Europe with Ballet Espanol Edo y Azucena Vega, and the Swiss National Circus before coming to Miami in 1986 with guitarist/singer husband Paco Fonta . In Miami ,Celia Clara has performed at all the most important Tablaos as featured dancer. She and her husband Paco Fonta founded the not for profit flamenco dance company, Siempre Flamenco devoted to performing traditional flamenco. The company is available for performances and for private parties.



In the past year Celia Clara has been guest artist and teacher in flamenco workshops and concerts in Chicago, Orlando, and Key West, Winterhaven,Tampa and other cities in Florida.

Ms. Clara has also collaborated on several Fusion projects exploring common ground between different dance forms, most notably with Iroko , an AfroCuban dance group based in Miami .
Celia is available for private flamenco dance lessons in her Studio in Miami Beach.
