The tune of the transcription have a very elaborate rhythmic form: there
are bars of 4/4 and 6/4 succeding. The Swallow's bass-line have a not-simmetrical order,
it seems never resolving. So the 4/4 sign is only an indication. Metheny's solo, after a
tonal beginning, go to a "modal-chromatic" approach. First melodic fragment
moves around D major scale. It has been repeated a major third up (F#) and a fourth up
from F# (B maj); this sequence remind us the famous Coltrane changes. Follow a chromatic
line that sound very different from the previous; here Pat uses his tipical ghost notes
(signed by a cross that replace the notehead).
