Although this casino is thousands of miles away from Ground Zero, people began to pay tribute to the fallen and hero’s of 9-11 in their own way. This casino in Las Vegas has a nice recreation of some of the buildings in New York City. After 9-11, people quickly began to hang t-shirts of fire and police departments from across the Nation with personal messages written on them along the outer fence.. Some messages show support.. some messages are in remembrance.. The mood for me, at this wall, reminded me of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C.. This was built by citizens of and visitors to Las Vegas as a tribute to what was lost in New York..
***UPDATE 2003: The casino has since taken down this grass roots tribute and replaced it with a small yet honorable permanent display. It has a few cases showing a few of the items left on the wall..
