Lost / Stolen

Dialog:

Emailed Message to KJ7BS (from WB6UFX 12-30-96):

I heard on Newsline that you're doing something with stolen radios...
If you are providing a worthwhile service, I would like to put you on our Page...
What do you do? How do you do it? Cost? Tell me about it...
If you don't want to be on our Page, forget it.

WOW, Newsline! News travels fast.

What I do is provide a place where lost or stolen radio equipment (preferably HAM radio equipment) can be posted, reviewed, and maybe even recovered.

There is no cost. Why charge people just to list something they have lost?

I'll provide this service as long as I am able.

The listing is organized by STATE/CITY/DATE.
I hope to have separate pages for each state. (This is still under construction.)

All I ask is for an e-mail sent to:

tracker@dancris.com

and a subject of:

lost/stolen radio listing.

North America only, at this time.

Include the following:

1. The date of the loss or theft.

2. The city and state/province where it occurred.

3. The make and model of equipment.

4. The serial numbers.

5. Your telephone number (including area code).

6. Your callsign.

7. Your name (First & last).

8. Your e-mail address (if available)

9. Your packet radio address (if available).

I send an e-mail back to confirm the listing has been updated, and request the sender review the updated listing for correctness.

I update the list on Sunday's and listings are not removed.
If the listing becomes too large, I'll have to devise an alternative.
I hope the list does not get this large.

Please include this information on your group's home page.
