A Little History.
The Yahoo! Group IRCFlirt began as, IRCFlirt Club, an adjunct to the EFNet IRC channel of the same name. Its founders and many of original members were members and operators of the IRC channel. Indeed, the idea behind creating the club was to generate attention and attract new members to the channel despite the fact that the two are very different Internet media. While IRCFlirt on EFNet required third party software such as mIRC, Pirch, etc. and was real time conversation only, the Yahoo community only required your browser for most of its functions (java is necessary for chat).
That was then...now, with more than two hundred members participating on the message boards, or at least looking in from time to time, the Yahoo community has outlasted the IRC channel that spawned it and then some. Like its older sister, it has contests and games. Unlike the other, it has always been capable of a good deal more including photo albums and club pictures although how these things are displayed often leaves something to be desired in terms of storage restrictions and accessibility.
