Falling on the Blade
He's so charming, so beguiling...
he could get away with murder...
Just a smile, and a wink...
would clear his reputation.
She's a nothing, just some street trash...
been around the block and back...
Nobody wants her, but everybody's had her...
wouldn't miss her if she died.
It's a dark room, in a cheap motel...
where they charge you by the hour....
They sign in quick, as a couple...
should have known it was a set up.
First he fucks her, then he slaps her...
then he tells her she's too pretty...
So he cuts her, like a sculptor...
carving artworks out of flesh.
When she screams, he goes crazy...
shards of glass fly from the mirror...
and he throws her, then he kicks her...
because she looks like his ex-wife.
She lies trembling, and she's bleeding...
but she tries to hide her face...
So he grabs her , by the shoulders...
and pounds her into the wall.
In the middle, of the struggle...
something slips and they both fall...
she can feel it, hear him dying...
as the blade runs through his heart.
First she panics, then goes running...
to the desk clerk in the hall....
bruised and bleeding, she is safe now...
and the police are on their way.
For a moment, all is better...
till the handcuffs touch her wrists...
she a murderer, headed for prison...
"Don't THINK you'll get away with this."
And the moral, of this fable
with its broken bloody girl....
Life's a bitch, you're never safe...
If you're a woman in the "Big Boy's World".
