Gryphons Gone Walkabout
Relax. Lean back and relax. Close your eyes, count to fifty and start to breathe again. Pretend he didn't just turn his back and walk out the door. Stop the crying, girl. Get a grip. He'll be back, he's not gone forever, its just.....temporary....just, umm..just a vacation.
She closes her eyes and folds her hands in silent prayer. Her hair falls forward to cover her face, hiding the tears that refuse to remain uncried. He'd warned her he'd be leaving soon. He'd never promised to stay, really. She'd just always KNOWN he would. Because she needed him, and Gryphon's stay when their needed.
~He stops outside, turns as though he'd changed his mind, and then shakes his head slowly before walking on. Not this time. This time, he's gonna get his break. This time, he's gonna make some time for himself.
Her fingers find the keyboard, stroking the cold plastic slowly before she begins to type. Each letter flows from the heart of her as she tells the world how much she loves him, and how hard it is to let him go. She fills the page with vague allusions to their past, and to the future she prays they'll share someday. Then, she sends it out into cybernowhere, for him to see. When he stops running and tries to catch his breath, when he thinks of her again....
~He is in charge again. His rules, his game...he's got it all under control. He touches her softly, granting her a single moment's peace in the whirlwind that she's made of life. He lets her know how much he loves her, but he does not change his plans.
