SOMEBODY

said that a one can judge the soul

by the company

of the friends

keeps.

ANYBODY

can tell that there is no truth

in that statement

just a bunch

of

lies.

NOBODY

ever thought that I was good

even though I held

that gentle soul

every

night.

EVERYBODY

makes their own way through life

digging and praying

hoping and dreaming

living

right.

I was shocked into silence

by your eyes

the steel grey of your glare took my breath as

I was crying.

And I didn't have a single word

that made sense

So I turned and ran away from everything I owned

I was hiding.

Shocked into silence, broken by my own words

And, I didn't have a clue what I had done.

I was hurting.

And I hurt them, like I hurt you

without knowing

Because I wanted to love them

I was searching.

The road was longer than I knew

crooked too

So, I turned the wrong direction without meaning to
