  • About Me and My Photography

After photographing aspiring models for a model school and agency that was owned by a friend of mine I soon grew tired of hearing the petty gripes from models about how "fat" they looked (generally they were about 5'9" tall and weighed about 105 to 110 lbs.) I decided to pursue my real love of photographing larger women and lady next door types. I will admit that it was and still is a challenge because most are very self conscious about their size and or age. I went to my friend and asked if she knew of any Rubinesque or larger ladies who might be interested. She refereed me to a couple who had taken her class just for something to do and they were delighted to pose for my cameras. For the first time in a long time I was enjoying my photography hobby. After seeing a lot of my work my own dear wife decided that she wanted to try being my model. She had a lot of fun doing it.

This Is My Wife Lu

She is what you would refer to as Rubinesque or Chubby

She is the mother of 4 and grand mother of 4

She is 5'  and weighs (ah....she won't even tell me that!!!

She is 38 D and the rest she says she doesn't know.

In her spare time she likes to work in her flower garden and, of course, play photographers model for me. She has in the past modeled for 3 or 4 other photographers who, like me, appreciate the mature lady next door type.

Besides being photographer model our other pashion is ball room dancing. We have been taking lessons for the last 4 years and attend many dances. Sometimes as many as 3 a week.

Our Studio

  • Thought you might be interested in a glimpse of our home studio. Most of the equipment that you see here was gathered over a period of many years. The lighting equipment was all purchased used. The props I found at garage sales and flee markets and numerous other places. My backgrounds for the most part are home made. Many of the sets I put together myself from odds and ends. Our studio is in the lower level of our home. (a fancy word for basement)  The studio here is 12' wide and about 24' long with 8' ceilings.
