The cRc:
The Chicago Rabbinical Council (cRc) is an organization of Orthodox Rabbis who are actively engaged in creating and sustaining a thriving and vibrant traditional Jewish community in the greater Chicago area. The cRc is also involved in many projects on behalf of the American Jewish Community.
Jewish Ecclesiastical Court - Beth Din Tzedik:
The Ecclesiastical Court hears and resolves questions on JewishLaw, disputes, and all queries related to the practice and theory of our way of life. It issues
Gittin (Jewish Divorces),
Certificates of Gerut (conversions with proper procedures followed)
and
Teudoth Ravakuth(certificates attesting to status of Jewish lineage)
All cRc certificates are internationally recognized and accepted by the
Israeli Chief Rabbinate.
Kashruth:
As a service to the community the cRc certifies and supervises
products for their Kashruth permissibility year round, and at Passover
time. The cRc also supervises and endorses various restaurants, caterers,
hotels, bakeries, manufacturers, and food establishments throughout the year.
