I am a proud Palestinian/Syrian woman. Unfortunately, I never lived in Palestine, but my Parents were born in the holy city of Bethlehem. I was born and raised in Damascus, a beautiful city in Syria. I have a Bachelors degree in French Art, Languages, and Literature. I love poems, music, and cooking. I immigrated to United States in 1982 along with all my family. I have a beautiful 11 year old son. I am proud to be American now, but also proud to know that my ancestors came from the land upon which God laid his gracious hand and raised his messengers. Home is always home no matter where you go, or where you live. No one can take this away from you. I always believe in love and peace. My big wish is that one day the world will be a better place to live in, to let our kids grow up with an environment far away from hate, prejudice, anger, and become blind to color, religion, and nationality. My favorite poets are Nizar Qabbani in everything he wrote, and the wisdom and the spiritual message of Khalil Gibran. I love Jacques Prevert's "Cet Amour," and Robert Hunter's "Attics Of My Life." I like what Mark Twain said: "True love is the only heart disease that is best left to 'run on'. It is the only affliction of the heart for which there is no help, and none desired." Helen Keller wrote "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart." Steven Finken wrote "Love is a flower whose beauty touches the lives of those who hold it.. Love is a song whose melody warms the hearts of those who sing it."
