program should look like with the correct Ti-font

note: Click on program of choice then right click, select all, another right click then copy. now open up ti-graph link available at www.ti.com then goto "file" then select "new program", paste the program into view box...it should look normal again, name it, save it, download into calculator. Reason... couldn't upload *.85p *.86p or uuencode programs to web site, had to use text. All of these programs will work in the 85 or 86 calculator (except the guitar89 program). On a few of these programs you can push the "2nd" key to pause it (if needed in program, sometimes while running) and "enter" key while it's running or paused to put new variables in, get it going again (if stopped/paused), or exit.
Also... just because you don't have the graph link cable, that doesn't mean you can't use the graph link software (get it at http://www.ti.com/calc ), it will allow you to view everything correctly. Or just open the *.txt in something like notepad then goto 'edit' and 'set font' as tifont, here's the font... ti-font .
Watch out for zero's "Ø" and Oh's "O"
The zero's have a slash going through them.
Also... the upper case Q (that's the Que) looks kind of similar to an upper case "O" (only on the text page with the ti-font. In the calc it's easy to see the difference)
Inadvertent blank spaces can also screw up a program (if they're somewhere they shouldn't be). The way to check is... start at the top of the program and move the cursor one space at a time with the right arrow button, it should drop to the next line right after it finishes the line you're on. If it keeps going out into space... there are blank spaces that need to be deleted. (It's good to remember this because the thing that might be messing up your code might be something you can't see.)
If you have to type everything into your calculator by hand...
Like I said... get the ti-font so you can read these *.txt files on your computer correctly then...
press [prgm] then [edit] (which is [F2] at the moment on calc), name the new program something, press [enter] ...most of the stuff you'll need for programming is in [CTL] (catalog) which is [F4] at the moment. "Everything" is in [2nd] [catalog]. Just play with it and try to get something typed in and working correctly. Read the whole section in the manual about programming... that's how I learned everything, even the program here... Guitar Chords was originally written on a ti85 calc ...guitar . Good luck ~~~
