I'm standing on the edge
You said you'd hold my hand
But you're not my angel
You can't watch me fall from this land
Solemn faced cliffs at my feet
Glimmering water winking at me
Whispering its seduction
Promising to set me free
So judge me...
Let your accusations burn my ears
Then taste of my pain
Drink of my tears
I look to the horizon
The sun falling from my sky
Taking with it the answers
As the questions bleed me dry
The waves splash...
Tears across a despairing face
Darkness slinks in
Shadows finding their place
Silence screams at me
Seeking out my rage
Clawing at my heart
Despite the bony cage
"You're giving in"
I listened, only to hear you cry
I kissed your cheek, let go of your hand
But never said goodbye
A feather fell at my feet
Moved by my sweet friend's sigh
My angel fluttered before me
And taught me to fly
But there was never any angel
Seagulls screamed as I fell from grace
Waves raked over spilt blood
A crime only life could trace
