it's that time of the year again

tree's are changing and here comes the wind
   Leaves are falling on the barren ground
and beneath the earth I can hear strange sounds
merchant's are selling all of their Halloween faces
and movement is starting in very strange places
and as night nears the moon gets  very bright
and all the children are getting ready for the coming night
soon you will see them all running around
little fast feet  just hitting the ground
holding candles in their hands
        and keeping a watchful eye out for the boogie man !

not to sure what lies ahead
these children keep knocking on doors instead
while searching for candy and other good things
the evil of night is about to begin it's reign
just around the bend up ahead
the first ghoul of the night
hides his head
lurking and waiting for the moment to pounce
and to scare the wanderers that come from the house

some may be friendly while others not
just waiting to catch the tricksters you see
  innocent ones like you and me !

some are ghostly all dressed in white
sharing the excitement of the night
darting in and out of the trees
   waiting for a chance to startle you and me

this is the beginning of all hallows eve
a time not to believe what your eyes may see
a time to go out and have a ball
trick or treating and making cat calls
but beware of the danger that could lie ahead
for Halloween is also a night for the dead
they too will be out shopping around
so beware of just what you see walking around
