You're at Disneyland getting on the Space Mountain ride. You're by yourself so there's an extra seat next to you. They always fill up all the seats at Disneyland, so they ask if anyone in line is alone. You look up and Duncan is climbing into the seat next to you. The ride takes off and you take a deep breath and off you go on the rollercoaster. To your complete embarrassment, you come down with an uncontrollable case of the giggles. The faster the ride goes, the more you giggle, until they become full fledged guffaws! What, you wonder, must he think of me? You go so fast around the curves that the centrifugal force is smashing the two of you together. It's dark and the ride goes faster and faster spinning out of control. You laugh and scream and then it's over and the ride stops...
As you catch your breath...you notice that Duncan is holding out his hand to help you out of the car. So happy you could burst, you take his hand and allow him to assist you. Standing on the platform, looking into those big brown eyes, you say, "I notice you are alone, too . Want to walk around together?"
He answers in that deep, resonant voice... "Well....I have a little time while I wait for my friends to get done with the Caribbean pirate ride." He was, of course, referring to Methos, Joe, and Richie. "But you know, it's more fun to go to the Happiest Place on Earth with a lady. Want to join us?" he asks.
"Gee let me think....hmmmmm....tough call.....alone...or with some fabulous looking guys...Can you give me a minute? Nahhh, sure why not?" And off you guys go.
"Wow ... that was fun.....," you say. "Gee, I never would've guessed how embarrassing it could be to ride on this ride with a total stranger!" you say.
"Oh, after that ride I don't think we're strangers anymore," he says as the two of you walk out into the rest of the Park. "Are you here alone?" he asks.
"Yes, my girlfriend has the flu and we already had the tickets, so here I am." you say.
"It's more fun here with someone else. What do you want to ride on next?" he asks.
"What about the jungle ride?" you reply.
The two of you get on the jungle ride just in time. A down pour hits the park and everybody is getting wet.
"I'm getting all wet!" you cry.
"Here, put my coat on" Duncan says as he slips a gorgeous black leather coat around your shoulders.
"Th..th.....thank you," you say. You sit back and realize there is something in the coat...rather sharp.... what could it be??... Hmmm…could it be...? Nah, what would a gorgeous guy like this
be doing with one of those, you muse. You lean into him for more
warmth, and he holds you close. Your eyes close, and you feel him. "Did you leave something in this coat?" you ask.
"Ummm, no" he says as he reaches inside the coat and too quick for you to see removes something. The ride ends and it’s still raining, so you decide to go to a ride that is mostly inside.
You are entering the Haunted House. "Ghosts, goblins and
Zombies......oh my..."
"Isn't that supposed to be ‘Lions, tigers, and bears...oh my’?"
"Oh you've seen that one too?" you say as the two of you are waiting for the festivities to start in the haunted house. You stand close, and as the floor drops underneath you, you say, "Any chance we can go back? I think I left my stomach back there!"
"Ahhh, you'll be okay..."
When the doors open, Duncan takes your hand in his and leads out into the hallway. The ghosts and goblins are singing and shrieking around you and you hold on tight to Duncan. He is amused that you would be afraid of a ride but he holds you closer. All of a sudden a band of marauding gypsies rush down the hall in your direction. Duncan shields you with his body. You notice two things: What a great body he has, and how much of a gentleman he is. You both quickly realize this is just a publicity stunt by Disney for one of their other rides. They
weren't gypsies, they were colorful pirates.
Laughing, Duncan says, "Well, they can't be very good pirates, or they certainly would have taken a good looking wench like you as their captive!!"
"Now you wouldn't let that happen, would you?" you say flirtatiously.
"No, I wouldn't… I would take you myself!" He winks at you.
"Why kind sir....perhaps a cold beer for your trouble...."
"Why not."
Duncan starts looking for a way out of the haunted house...an exit door? Since they don't have beer at Disneyland, you decide to go out for a drink later. In Fantasyland you get on the carousel and go up and down and up and down…and that pizza you had for lunch.....up and down....up and down....
As you get off the carousel, Methos, Joe, and Richie walk up and join you.
"Well, we meet again....."
"Madam...." says Methos.
"Mr. MacLeod, your friends are such gentlemen....you don't see that anymore. You guys are like something from the middle ages."
Methos was about to say something but Joe elbows him. Duncan introduces you to each of his friends.
"I hope we aren't interrupting anything." chuckles Richie.
"Oh, no!" answers Methos. "I'm sure our company is just what they need to liven things up. You know what a Boy Scout MacLeod is!"
"I'm not a Boy Scout!" protests Duncan.
"Oh, but you are!!"
"I've about had enough of the Happiest Place on Earth,” Richie says.
"Yes, is there anywhere around here where we can get a beer?" asks Methos.
"And listen to a good blues band?" asks Joe.
"How about the House of Blues?" you say.
In the House of Blues, as he holds you close, you wonder, either this guy is taken...divorced .... getting over somebody....or.... or.....heaven forbid....nahhh couldn't be. The music is awesome. The beer is cold. Duncan asks you to dance. Duncan holds you close, then the beat of the music takes over both your souls. As you dance, you realize that no one has ever made you feel like this. Methos comes up and asks to cut in, but Duncan won't let him.
"Sorry," you laugh, "maybe next dance."
Richie's about to get slapped. In the middle of your dance Richie cuts in. "Hey babe. I really go for older women," he says with a wink.
"Who ya calling older?" you say.
"Well its better to be old and wise than young and stupid." says
Duncan....(to the rescue once again)
As Duncan and Richie are arguing about who's gonna dance with you, Methos grabs your hand and says, "You're mine for awhile."
Methos is a pretty good dancer, you think as he pulls you close and moves with the music. You are quite impressed with his dancing abilities.
"So how long have you been dancing," you ask.
"Oh a long time."
"You don't look that old..."
"You'd be surprised! Well, let's put it this way... Cleopatra thought I was to die for", he said with a laugh.
Duncan says to Methos "Unless you wanna lose your head you better let go of her."
"Oh, all right," he says looking at you regretfully. "And we fit so well together".
Then he's off to the bar for another beer.
"Where were we?" Duncan asks.
You sigh...and say "Maybe you had better refresh my memory. I must be getting old....I think I forgot."
"Oh....you're not old....trust me...." Duncan gets close...."Does this help?"
"A little bit...."
"See you did remember...."
"Must be those vitamins..." Moving in closer, you say, "Right about here."
The music swells around you. You feel Duncan's body as he dances close to you. Mesmerized by his eyes, you hardly notice that you are now locked in an embrace. Your fingers are running through his thick, dark hair. Your lips meet. You kiss. Oh, what a kiss.
Of course Joe has to interrupt this wonderful Duncan moment. "Come on MacLeod.....let an old guy in for a while."
Duncan laughs....and steps aside.
The bar’s closing and it's time to leave. Richie's found a blonde that he's gonna bar hop with.
"Later Mac," he says on his way out.
Joe is headed home and Methos says, "I suppose three is a crowd?"
"It definitely is," you say as you leave the bar with Duncan.
The night is alive with the twinkle of a thousand stars. The two of you stroll hand in hand along the street, not much caring where you are going. You lean against him and he puts his arm around you. The night is just perfect, you think.
"Hmmm… want to go to the beach and talk?"
The two of you decide to go the beach and watch the stars, the astral ones, not the ones on the big screen. The night is beautiful after the storm blew through and the sky is clear, a breeze is blowing, and the two of you talk and talk.
The drive to the beach was nice, as there wasn't a lot of traffic. The beach is practically deserted. Holding hands, you wander over the sand to the waters edge and stroll down until you find a secluded spot.
"Tell me about you."
"There's not much to tell."
But you know from having gazed into his eyes that there is much to tell.
"Ahhh, come on with eyes like that? OK Mr. Bond, James Bond, 'fess up or it’s Chinese water torture time. Veee have vays of making you talk."
Duncan laughs. It is such a musical sound. Your heart takes flight.
"Wel-l-l-l-l," he starts, "I suppose there are a few things. How much time do you have?"
You are about to tell him you have all the time in the world, when these Baywatch bimbos come flying out of nowhere.
"What is going on?" you ask.
The bimbos say, "A toxic spill of David Hasselhoff. You're going to have to leave the beach immediately."
"Gosh, I'd hate to get David Hasselhoff all over me. I hear that stuff causes cancer. And besides, it never comes off!!"
"Every day in every way, my life just keeps getting stranger and
stranger!"
You look at Duncan, wondering what he meant by that. You don't have time to ask him, though, because those Baywatch Bimbos are rather pushy.
The two of you decide to go to an all night Starbucks, sip Frappacinos and watch the sunrise. Because, after all, Duncan MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod is first and foremost a gentleman, and it's much too soon, far too soon to ... well ... you know. You keep telling yourself this, but in all honesty, you sorta kinda wish there were maybe more of a scamp in him.
Oh well, you think as you gaze into those eyes, I have time. Just as you are lost in thought, the table starts to really really shake. Duncan grabs you and moves you away from the glass window.....
Sorry guys, this is where we ended it. It was late and we were tired.
