We all have an individual soul, something that is unique, something that makes us. We all have a center to our being. This is our soul. Our soul is our true being. It has been with us in all our incarnations and out of them. It does no matter how old your soul is. Honestly it is irrelevant to how much you know and understand. It does not matter who your soul has been, lessons come to us no matter what body we inhibit. You could have been Joan of Arc or a nameless slave and still learned the same lesson. You could have been a 'no one' peasant and learned more than any famous king, magician or general. You could have been a Roman Centurion and had a more productive life than a Disciple.

Our soul is what makes us. Often we try to push this inner self, this true self, aside. If you are worried about the fame of your previously inhabited bodies, then you are denying your soul. Your are denying yourself growth. I have heard at least seven people claim to be Mary Magdalene, a dozen to be Cleopatra, and so many that I've lost track to be Morganne LeFey, Joan of Arc, Nostradamus, Plato or any number of the Disciples. No one ever claims to be 'evil' people or plain people. These people are so focused on their 'previous' self that they lose track of who they are now. Who you were doesn't matter. What matters is who you are.

One of the biggest steps to reclaiming yourself, is to discover your soul name. You already know what it is, it has always been with you. Having knowledge about your soul name, your true name, is part of being able to harness all that is possible within you. This name is your key to the higher self. Well, maybe not higher, but the truth of your being. This name can free you. It can guide you. It is you. If you discover this name, you have the potential to learn more about yourself than most people think possible. You can discover your fate, your power, your center.

Unlike a magickal name or craft name, so often use in paganism, wicca and witchcraft these days, you do not choose this name, you do not and cannot mold it in anyway. This name is you. It will be more powerful than any name you could possibly choose. This name will be in your soul's language, your divine language, your voice. Your name will have meaning to you and your soul group. Your circle of soul siblings, or companions are people who are drawn to you and your soul. Not necessarily bound, but almost one. In general, you are all driven by similar fates.

If you know your true soul name and understand the power within, no one can control you by invoking it or using it. This is a common fear and misconception. Your soul name is what your soul named itself in creation, you can only be controlled by it if you allow your soul to be controlled.

Look to the center of your being. Listen to it, breath yourself in, drink in your essence. Release yourself from your body, your physical form, your surroundings. Just sit and be selfish. That's right, be selfish. Not self-centered, but selfish. Do this for you. Do this because you must. Be selfish, don't be afraid of yourself. Don't deny yourself the pleasure of finding your truth. Don't deny yourself the pleasure of finding your being. Don't deny living. Don't deny this gift we call a soul. Be true to it. Don't sacrifice yourself before you have even discovered who you are.

There are many ways to find your soul name. Some easy, some hard. The key to finding it, is to open yourself up to it. Allow your soul to open, find the center of your being and listen to it. Your name is like your song, it is playing the center of your being all the time. Your name is like the key to this center.

A few important keys to finding your soul name:

1. Don't force it. Let it come to you naturally.



2. Use what you know to find your name. Whether this be meditation, aura readings, spells etc. use what you are most comfortable with.



3. Don't force a name on yourself.



4. Look within for this, don't look outside yourself.



5. Ask you spirit guides/totems to help you. Sometimes even asking them flat out does the trick. You'd be surprised how often asking blunt questions will get you blunt answers.



6. Open your heart chakra, this will help you to open up to your inner self.



7. Don't be afraid to use 'stepping stones' when looking for your name. If you find a name that rings with you, but you know isn't your true name, use it for a while as a step to finding your true name.



8. Visualize your 'spiritual body' and the light surrounding it. Look at yourself in this light and it will help you to find your true self.



9. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Some people/guides etc have the ability to look within you and just tell you things. Asking is good.



10. Most importantly, go with your intuition! Usually you are right!
