The Exclusive Modern Classic 2000 from Poggenpohl is a firm favourite for those who can afford it! Exceptional German quality, a veneered dark cherry door, makes for an excellent investment in the home! |
A beautiful installation in Stellenbosch, a wine country district east of Cape Town, South Africa. A large unique and highly attractive central island table feature connects this attractive bold kitchen. The centred cooking area is covered by a Gaggenau stainless steel canopy shelf flanked by open wall shelves and panelling. The whole worktop and wall below is lit by low voltage halogen lights recessed below the wall units. |
The latest Gaggenau appliances were used here, and the ultra hi-tech design and functionality, makes this a modern progressive kitchen with the stainless steel accents and warm dark wood sparking off a pleasing contrast. |
Solid electric plates on both sides of a centred griller, open wall shelves flank a stainless steel canopy and under counter 90cm oven makes this "cooking wall" an absolute pleasure to work with! Stainless steel accent drawer fronts by Poggenpohl make a highly individual statement, chosen by the client. Also a thicker, bolder stainless steel handle used here, is assertive and functional as each handle becomes a feature in its own right. All appliances are by Gaggenau, fridge freezer, microwave oven, oven, hob, griller and cooker hood canopy. |
A microwave oven is installed at eye level next to the fridge freezer. The fridge protrudes forward, stepping back to the standard depth of the tall microwave housing, stepping back once again to the standard depth of the wall units. This layering of planes, is almost architectural in this bold "kitchenscape" The Fridge protrusion is also visual a separation of two spaces, namely the kitchen and the living room. A formal dining room is situated across a garden courtyard, and is seldom used as such. The kitchen furniture becomes the living room furniture! |
