Note, April 24, 2005: This book has not gotten underway for many reasons, mainly my health. At this point, I can only say that I always stated it would be for future generations. The premise of the book may be slightly moderated, though, in light of what may become of Michael. Not because he may be convicted but because he may, -- gulp -- be guilty. You can send me hate mail if you want, but I am a very intuitive person and I have studied people; psychology and more, and while it is very hard to think of Michael as a monster it is unlikely that he did not have some kind of intimate relationship with the many boys in his life. It has taken me some time to come to terms with that and I have defended him very diligently in the many years being online and prior even though doubts were lingering in my mind. It is very hard to find that a "child" of yours is a criminal and you would go to any length to make sense of it in some other way. That's what I did, ignoring many facts about Michael which I can no longer ignore.
Having said that, Michael is still an intriguing figure and musical genius who moved the world and his fans in a way never before seen. He still deserves to be written about. I am not sure in what way I will present the many entries, at this point, except to acknowledge the effects he has had and the strength of familiarity and affection we all felt for many reasons. I will not make the book extremely psychology analytical and I will not paint him as a monster in any way.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate." Marianne Williamson (A Return to Love 1992)
Commonly mis-attributed to Nelson Mandela*

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

* It's a mystery... The quote above has been commonly attributed to Nelson Mandela's Inaugural Speech in 1994. Thanks to the diligent efforts of John Finlayson, it can be confirmed that this quote was definitely not in either of the speeches Nelson Mandela made at his inauguration (9 & 10 May 1994) and was, most likely, NEVER said by the great man.

The quote is from a book entitled 'A Return to Love' by highly successful American author and lecturer, Marianne Williamson. The book was released as an audio book in 1992 with the printed version not released until 1996 - two years after the speech it is (mis)attributed to.

How did it happen? Who knows. It will probably forever remain a mystery. But, it's not fair to Marianne Williamson that she doesn't get credit for such brilliant, inspirational words. If you decide to use this wonderful quote, do the right thing and give Marianne the credit.
