This past year was very successful with a variety of programs for our Nagar community. I would like to thank all of our community members for your continued support and help in successful celebration of Spring Patotsav '98, Summer Picnic at Double Rock Park, Fall Music program - Ek sham Nagar ke Naam - by Aarati, Saumil and Shymal Munshi at Dr. Nanavati's new house and Diwali Dinner in November '98.
We would begin this year with the celebration of Patotsav '99, in our traditional way on Saturday, April 17, 1999 at Greater Baltimore Temple, Finksburg, Maryland 21117. This would be the first opportunity for our community members to celebrate Hatkeshwar Jayanti - Patotsav in the newly built Greater Baltimore Temple. We invite all our Nagar families, particularly from Baltimore, Washington D.C., Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania and other neighboring states, to join us for the celebration of this holy occasion.
We have enclosed a registration form, program venue/direction and tentative schedule for your use. Please complete the registration form and send it back directly to Praful Bhatt at the address on the registration form or register by emailing Vivek Mehta(Vivek0831@hotmail.com) or Praful Bhatt. The early registration deadline is April 10, 1999.
Further, a general meeting of our Nagar Association is scheduled during our Patotsav '99 celebration for the election of the new Executive Committee for the year '99-'00. You are invited to attend the general meeting and participate in the election of the Executive Committee for '99-'00. A nomination form is enclosed for your information and active participation in the election process. Please feel free to contact me, Yogesh Mehta, Praful Bhatt, or any other committee members for further information.
At the national level; National Nagar Council has merged with NAGAR (Nagar Association of Greater American Regions) Inc. as established at the Chicago Nagar convention last summer. It is hoped that most of our members would have received registration form for the upcoming new Nagar Directory and the first newsletter in November '98. If you have not received this or any other newsletters/flyers, please contact Vivek Mehta(Vivek0831@hotmail.com) with name & address etc. All are requested to send their directory update form and support NAGAR and their activities. Thanks for all of your support. Again, I urge you to register by emailing Vivek Mehta(Vivek0831@hotmail.com) or by contacting one of the board members for a mail-in registration form.
