My Thoughts

I was just thinking that I haven't really put down many of my thoughts on these pages, Mostly because I am not good with words, and I find "other people" say things so much better than I can. Some of this is just things i wonder and think about... But here goes:

Where do all the people go when they are not online?
Do they have a real life too?
Where do you find real life?
and the BIG question is:
What do people without Computers do? LOL

My Thoughts on the Net

The net has gotten alot of bad press. There is always something in the news about how bad it is, but seldom do you see stories about all the good you will find online. I know they are there, I have met Many Wonderful people here, always willing to help in anyway they can, whether it be to lend an ear, make you laugh, or just be there for you... How can we care so much about people that only live in a box We worry about them...I tend to worry alot... We are happy when they are happy...sad when they are sad. I think that we become closer to people online as we feel safe, Safe to share our Hopes, our Dreams, our Fears. Safe because we think they can't see us, but I think they see far more of the "real us" than our families or closest "real life" friends. In fact I think alot of times we spend more time together in meaningful conversation than we do in real life converstations...
Iam not saying there are not bad people online, I am sure there are, but just like everywhere else there are alot of good people too, and i think they FAR outweigh the bad...

Things I Think about

If you enjoy being online....
You Have a hard time relating to people who are Not online
This has really come up for me alot this week. Its funny how I can tell the same story to an online friend(in person or on phone) and have them really laughing . But let me tell that to a real life friend and they look at me as If i have lost all my marbles...Well...Maybe i have...lol
One thing I am pretty sure of IF I ever get married again, it is going to have to be to someone that understand IRC, and the friendships you make here. I was talking to a friend the other day, and he says he is getting married and that they are getting rid of IRC. Now I just don't see the sense in that, he is just getting married....lol My opinion (and thats all it is, is my opinion) is that If you are getting married or already married, you should still be able to be online, although granted not NEAR as much, you should spend more time with your spouse than online...but you should not give up all your friends either, as much as you Love someone you need to have other interests too.

Quote from a Friend

Yesterday is a Memory Tomorrow a Mystery Today is a Gift It is called the Present.... Be kind to all people and say things that are compliments. They will be returned to you many times over.... :)

More to come later... Stay tuned
