"So, Mike, tell me about yourself."

My most dreaded interview question. I never know what to tell them or where to begin. This is some of what I want to say, after I leave the office, shaking like a milkshake machine.

I was born in Chicago, moved around alot until fourth grade, then 'settled down' in Topeka, Kansas. I hated high school, and now attend the University of Kansas as an Environmental Studies major, just recently realizing I can double major with Geography. I have had several jobs, including maintenence at a construction wholesaler, and my current job of Lab Monitor at the Ellsworth Computer Lab at Ellsworth Hall. All these jobs have given me a wide variety of experence in construction and repair (I helped build my house), and extensive experience in computers, ranging from Macintosh to DOS to HTML and back to Wack-intosh (Windows 95).

I have several friends who lived on my dorm floor who think I'm mysterious and cool, and think I am a really great guy. This, of course, puts me in the "undateable" category (though I've been considered possibly one of the Best Lovers on the Floor by folks who never had me). But I try not to be bitter, and the best way of doing that is to let my sardonic wit and appreciation of irony (especially my appreciation of irony) shine through on every occasion.

After living in Ellsworth Hall for 4 years (I never got motivated to leave, or to cook my own meals), and in the process having gone through 8 roommates (It's not my fault, really!), I'm finally on my own. I haven't starved so far...

My family is scattered all over the country. My sister is currently in Las Vegas, working on her modeling career. My dad and step-mom live in Ft. Worth, Texas, soaking up the sun. My mom and step-dad are living in Colorado, on a farm or something. I have at least 25 cousins (last I counted), and about a dozen aunts and uncles, mostly in Michigan (I have one aunt who lives in Seattle, and a couple in Florida). My grandparents live in Michigan and Florida, and whenever possible I visit any of them I can get to.

I love to sail, read, and practice Ki-Aikido (except those darn rolls. They make my dizzy). I also seem to have a knack for backrubs (several loyal followers can't be too wrong).

That's me (kinda, sorta). Click to go back to my main page, and here to mail me.
