A Kindred Spirit...
Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.

"Pooh", he whispered.

"Yes, Piglet?"

"Nothing", said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw,

"I just wanted to be sure of you."

...and a Fellow Dork

Junie is one of the friends I met through env. sci. We sat next to each other during Environmental Biology spring semester of sophomore year, and we didn't really talk to each other until midway through the semester. Why? I dunno.. maybe because she thought my name was Urea? No I don't think I'll forgive you for that one yet.. Anyway, we became study buddies (oscillation, undulation, combination!) and then really great friends. It is absolutely INSANE how much we have in common.. I don't think I've ever met anyone who was so like me - in the way we think, in interests, in our dorkiness, in stupid little things.. I wouldn't be surprised if we found out we were separated at birth. (Besides the fact that she is Chinese and I'm Japanese.. details..) Thankfully, we're different enough too so things aren't too twilight zone-ish. When I met her friend David.. the first thing he said to me was "I know you by reputation. She says you're a big a dork as she is!" which is always a nice thing to hear when you first meet someone's friend.

Of course Junie and I have accepted the fact that we're probably the biggest dorks ever and we're even proud of it. We make asses out of ourselves ALL THE TIME because we are the coolest people in the world. With no one else would I spend an afternoon at CVS sitting, talking in the SHAMPOO aisle.. or reliving our childhood in the children's book section of Media Play.. or sitting at the Souper Bowl trying to make our sodas overflow.. don't ask... The simplest little things can keep us entertained for hours. So can doing nothing. We can even have fun sitting at our second home, the Blue Wall, and STUDYING.. or at least trying to. And yes, she watches Peanuts with me too :) In fact I think I've gotten her almost as obsessed as I have.. not that I'm obsessed..

Junie has been my sanity time and time again... I think we do a pretty good job of keeping each other sane, or at least try to.. either that or we're both losing our minds over lots of different things. Most of the time though, I think we're just hazards to each other's health. Don't ever get either of us laughing. Hey, at least we're fun. Junie is the greatest person in the entire world!!!

like the shadows of the morning
climb up to the august afternoon
Charlie has a way of picking up the day
just by walking slowly in a room

maybe it's a kind of magic
only little boys can do
but seeing Charlie smile
can make you stop a while
get you feeling glad you're you

he's only a boy named Charlie
a boy named Charlie Brown

he's just the kid next door
perhaps a little more
he's every kid in every town
the world is full of lots of people
here and there and all around
but people after all
start out as being small
we are all a boy named Charlie Brown

the world is full of lots and lots of people
here and there and all around
people after all
start out as being small
we're all a boy named Charlie Brown
