Jada's Gone

by Michael C. Shivar

The lights are out And Jada's gone We've wished her off To a better home A daddy mourns A mother cries Friends come in To say goodbye To a girl they loved How could it be Jada's gone And where were we A girl gets home A mother sighs The daughter sees Sorrow in her eyes And the words come out Like pouring rain The door is shut Can't grasp the pain Of losing, losing a dear loved one Jada's gone, and she cries alone And she wakes up in the morning With the sun shining bright But she stumbles around Like in the dead of night But out of the dark Comes a ray of light Jada's gone But she's alright Not a week or month had passed Since her friends had saw her face last And Jada, how is it going in your new home If you catch me looking skyward I didn't mean to stare It's just that you're gone far away from here And it wasn't, No it wasn't that long ago
