Spend some time with your dad, and let him know you care.

Thank You, Dad

I left your house, some years ago,
To set out on my own,
Mistakes, regrets, I have a few,
Since I have left our happy home.

I try to follow the example,
That you have set for me.
Kind, firm and gentle,
Like you, I hope to be.

We've had our disagreements,
We've shared some pain and strife,
We share a lot of memories,
That I'll cherish all my life.

I'll never be, half the man,
That in my eyes, I see,
Bigger than a mountain,
Stronger than a tall oak tree.

I know I've made you angry,
At least a time or two,
But love and understanding,
Has always brought us through.

Many things you've taught me,
The hows, the whats, the whys,
Some things more than others,
And some things by surprise.

I may have left, some time ago,
The shelter of your home,
But you are always by my side,
No mater where I roam.

Thank you, dad, for being there,
To help me in my need,
The love you give, your guiding hand,
I thank you, yes indeed.
