Today, We Shall Begin, Anew

Written for a friend's wedding.

Today,
We Shall Begin,
Anew

I cannot, Nor will I,
Promise you, The best of everything.
I cannot, Nor will I,
Promise you, Your dreams will come true.
But,
I can, will, and do,
Promise you,
My eternal,
Love, Devotion, and Dedication,
As long as God, gives me breath.
For, Today, we begin, a new life,
Together,
We will embrace it, With,
Love, Hope, and Sincerity.
There will be many new experiences we will share,
And all of our decisions will not be easy.
Hand in hand, We will walk a new path,
Together.
We will leave yesterday in our past,
And look forward to tomorrow.
We will not always agree,
And many trials will befall us on our journey.
But in the presence of God,
We have made our vows,
And in him shall we leave our trust.
Today,
As we begin as one,
We shall endeavor to make life better,
Not only for ourselves;
But, also for those who will follow us.
Thank you for sharing with me,
This portion of Eternity.
Together,
We have chosen this path,
And Together,
We will walk it,
Truly;
Today,
We have begun,
Anew.
