The Quilt of Life
Our lives are like patchwork quilts,
Each of us, were fashioned by our creator to serve a purpose.
Every colorful patch represents a different day of our lives,
Just as those patches are remnants of cloth,
Each day of our life, is a remnant of time.
Some of those days, like the patches,
Are dark and dreary, but they help add a special flavor to our
personality.
Other days, are bright and cheerful, and help reflect out warmth
and character.
Although, from a distance, we all appear much the same,
We are all uniquely different.
The threads which bind us together,
Knowledge, Love, and Understanding,
Join our experiences together in a unique and unrivaled fashion,
God uses the experiences we encounter,
To forge our design to His purpose,
His, are the hands that have sewn us together,
Carefully and purposely making sure each stitch is secure and
warranted,
Our legacy, is what we think we are,
But rather, how well we have fulfilled our purpose.
We are endowed by our creator with Knowledge,
We are charged with a responsibility to share it with others.
We were created out of a labor of Love,
And are compelled to love one another, despite our differences.
We were graced with Understanding,
So we could have compassion for others,
And share our trials and triumphs.
Our purpose is not fulfilled when all the
stitches are sewn,
That is merely a new beginning,
For now we face our greatest tests,
We must bestow the warmth that was placed in our trust,
We may have become, soiled an tattered, during our journey,
But our example, will lead others in our footsteps.
Just as that quilt, shares it's warmth and beauty,
So shall we when our quest is finally over,
And we meet the requirements of our creator.
