1. The Dark Tower Series; Stephen King
(All the books in this series are excellent, King did a superb job of creating a world just different enough from ours to be magical and stunning. Excellent characters.)
2. Get Shorty; Elmore Leonard
(Nobody does dialog like Leonard)
3. Ender’s Game; Orson Scott Card
(Great surprises in this book)
4. The Vampire Lestat; Anne Rice
(Completely blows the others in this series away. Incredible story.)
5. Thief of Always; Clive Barker
(Great tale for any age)
6. Eyes of the Dragon; Stephen King
(So many things going on, so much for the reader to enjoy. Wish it were longer.)
7. Keeper; Greg Rucka
(Good bodyguard story.)
8. Lightning; Dean Koontz
9. It, Stand, Salem’s Lot, Needful Things, Skeleton Crew, Different Seasons
(The Body is possibly the best work King has ever done)
10. Dawn of the Dead; George Romero
(Makes you feel the despair and hopelessness of the situation)
11. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest; Ken Kesey
(R.P. McMurphy is one of the greatest literary characters to ever grace the page. Kesey can make you laugh more in two pages, than other authors can do in a whole novel. The Monopoly Game scene could stand on it’s own apart from the rest of the book.)
