: Please give your views on Chillies Avatar Maker.

: This tool is being marketed as a way of stealing avatars from vp users,
: It does this by capturing the avatar in a scalable box. The program can
: also be used to capture and create avatars of web site artwork the way we
: normally do with psp or photoshop.

: Have a look and let me know what u think about it
: http://www.zianet.com/talon/cam.htm

: Should the guild discourage the use of this tool ?

: Should the guild accept sites that create avatars using it ?

: Is it a good tool for newbies to use to make avatars ?

: Is the only thing wrong the marketing angle ?

I'm not a member of the guild, but as a friend and fellow chatter, Chilly's Avatar MAKER, is just that, for making avatars. Not capturing already made avatars, but to assist in making an avatar that is already formatted for use in VP and to the correct size required for VP.

Chilly's program was made for that purpose, and he should not be penalized for the misuse of it by others using it to capture an avatar being worn.

The Pro version has an excellent option to make up to 12 avatars when creating a tour. With that, avatars do not cover the picture of the tour, but become the tour.

As for refusing sites that use this program....how is one to know it is being used? There is no way of knowing whether a person used the capture option in PSP or Chilly's Avatar Maker to create the avatar on their site.

From a person who has an avatar site, I am furious to see people posting an avatar I have made. It is hard to detect whether it is an original or a very similar variation, but when you see an avatar on a site with the except same file name, you can be certain it's been stolen.

Unless someone places a "symbol" or "marker" on their avatar showing it's their work, there is no way of knowing if that is a stolen avatar. I know i have seen some that look exactly like one i have made, but to compare, their is a very slight difference. So how is one to tell if a person is doing that??...

I do not think the problem is Chilly's Avatar MAKER and but lies in the conscience of those who post an avatar and calls it their own, knowing it's been captured or stolen from another site.

I would suggest to anyone that they get the program, and for that reason I have a link to Chilly's progam on my avatar site.

Thanks for listening,
SIXela..... Come Beach at Sunset!..and say Hi!
