Here are
some images I've created. Most of my artwork starts life as a pencil sketch
which I then scan and manipulate in Photoshop. Sometimes I create images directly
on the screen, or I used to before my graphic stylus died. I'm currently
trying to save up for a new one. I like to draw portraits of people, I've
done life drawing and a few art classes, but I'm largely self taught. Recently
I've been experimenting with coloring pencil drawings using the Photoshop
airbrush tool. The results seem kind of cool to me.
Here are some of my attempts at portraiture. I've done a lot of sketching, working at markets and just drawing in public places. As always the difficulty is catching a likeness before the subject moves. People have been spoilt by the instant nature of photography. But I think a portrait captures something that a photo doesn't... Or it should?
Finally here
are some images I created as part of my writing for Logres Weyr (See the writing
page!), These were created as illustrations for my own stories, I also did
some work illustrating for other people. It's a lot of fun to see your written
work come to life in unexpected graphic forms.
