THE COUNTRY
- Countryside:
Escapades en Namurois - Jaunts in the Namurois Land - An interesting idea: detailed description for VTT bicycles (stunt/ dirt track bikes) treks through paths and nature in the Southern Province of Namur.
Well organized, each itinerary being detailed as in a real notebook for trekking. In French, but easy to follow on the computer: ...just look to the beautiful country scenery of the photos.
- Trees of the South Brabant Province:
The Extraordinary Trees of the Walloon Brabant - An impressive series of photos of beautiful trees, some of them very old like the 800 years YEW located near Hamme-Mille; text in French but any tree lover should check for this page.
- WATERLOO!
This village (now a town) located at approx 20 km from the south of Brussels is the place where 1815 Europe stopped Napoleon by defeating his troops in the surrounding plains.
The history of Europe was definitely changed there.

- Brussels' Legendary Hotel: Le Métropole
Visit the impressively ornate lobby, dining room and many other incredibly well kept decorations of this hotel located in the very center of downtown Brussels. Check for the "fin de siècle" atmosphere present everywhere in its impressive internal architecture.
The very well done WEB pages will give you also a glimpse to the guest book with famous signatures. In 1995 the Metropole celebrated its 100th anniversary.

Brussels over the years - Short historical list of the principal events and rulers succeeding over the centuries; starts from the 10th Century (foundation of Brussels= 979) until modern days. A good introduction to the Belgian complex history.
- French Speaking Belgium
Belgique Côté Francophone - Dossier (essay) by the famous French newspaper: "Le Monde" , about all important aspects of life for the French speaking part of the Belgian population. Mainly orientated to politics, culture, arts and social analysis. A very good introduction to this part of Belgium. Extensive treatment of each chapter. Was originally published in their newspaper in September 97. In French only.
BELGIANS IN THE WORLD
- AXEL On Line: a friend's homepage- Check for his interesting links: Morrison the pop singer and the Doors, ROUTE 66 the legendary road to California and much more; in English. Axel keeps a list of links automatically entered in his page by the visitors wishing to help.

DELA: a clever and interesting site based on graphics, but with real contents. See all originals things you can do with Netscape and some creativity. No framemania, which make it even more interesting. In French only, but should be visited by anyone interested in pages structures and assembly.
- LES GROUPES ELECTRO-INDUSTRIELS EN BELGIQUE: The Electro-Industrial Groups in Belgium -a short historical introduction to "techno music". Gives a lot of links to other interesting pages related to the history of this music and its creators, proving the important role of the Belgian musicians and groups for the foundation and evolution of this modern pop music. In French.
A second part of the site is named FOE which gathers encyclopaedic data, links, studies and... 40 commented audio-clips (on-line) for the "Insustrial Music". Bilingual texts: French and English. A 'must visit' for the fans of this music genre!

CYBERCAFÉ : Weekly Belgian Radio 21 programme in French dedicated to the WEB and Web sites, worldwide.
Simultaneously transmitted on the channel of the Belgian TV 2, with some Web pages presented on-screen!
Check out for Cybercafé Web site, where you can find the list with links of all the sites selected by them. Some very interesting findings are there.
WEBORGERS was selected in March 97 to appear in their broadcastings, with on-line interview of the author.
- PING Belgium:
one of the most popular Internet server in Belgium. Check for the innovative style of presentation of their own homepage and support for the users. In English. Versions in Dutch and French are there as well.
