2003
- The Georges Simenon Year>
2003,
declared Georges Simenon year in the French-speaking part of Belgium, will
see many special events taking place from April until the end of the year.
Belgian
and French television will broadcast many documentaries and interviews
of the author, besides a series of films based on his works.
We
have reviewed a small pocketbook, a handy essay by David Carter, recently
published in the UK in 2003, which will certainly be of help to those
who are not very familiar with Simenon’s work.

A Portrait of Georges Simenon by Patrick Marnham Interesting introduction to the complexity of Simenon's life and its influence on his works. Not a literary essay about his work, but a solid documented account about Simenon's itinerary Cover drawing by Simenon's first wife, Tigy, in 1927 |

in detail about his way for organizing his writing, and other topics. In
French.
