The sleeping beauty lied on the bed in the hospital. The sun shine skip through the white curtain from the outside world. The abscue noisy of the dried leaf rolling on the floor, bring Renaul the memory of the good time he had with his beloved girlfriend, Cathrine. A name which Renaul cannot ever forget, it is also a feeling which has drag him into the deepest hell and raise him to the greatest paradise. Renaul packed the last thing left behind by Cathrine and he knows that he will never forget her.

The story started about two years ago, which the boy, Renaul, was taking some photos for his coming assignment with his best friend, Jack, at the nearby beaches.
" Renaul, hurry up! The weather seems to get worse!" Jack yelled.
" Don't be so hasty! I'm trying to adjust the focus!" Renaul replied.
" Okay! I guess I just wait here and ~~~~. Hey! There is some walking on the beach and it seems to be a pretty girl! I am gonna take a picture for her." Jack spoke with excitement.
" What pretty girl? You must be dreaming!" Renaul was talking to Jack and tried to comfort his excitement and he move his sight to the girl that Jack was saying. When Renaul saw the girl, a very special feeling came up to his heart which is indescribable. But, because he has taken the last photo, so he said to Jack,
" C'mon, let's go. It's no good for us to go home late!"
Soon, Renaul and Jack packed everything up and went home in their car. For some reason, Renaul was still thinking about the girl they saw on the beach even when he got home.

Two days later, when Renaul and Jack are working in the dark room with those pictures they took on the beach, suddenly Jack shouted,
" I got it! I got it! I got the photo!"
" You got what? What photo?" Renaul asked.
" Do you remember the girl we saw on the beach? I took a picture of her and now here it is! She does look beatiful, right?" Jack spoke with great joy.
"But I guess I can't keep this with me, because it is very possible that my girlfriend might ask me about who this girl is! Would you do me a favourite to keep the photo for me, please?" Jack said to Renaul with a begging tone.
"Okay! Okay! I will keep it very c~a~r~e~f~u~l~l~y~!" Renaul promised with teasing.
Again, that special feeling came up to his mind when Renaul scanned through the photo. But he soon realised that such a beautiful girl like this has probably had a boyfriend already and there were not much chance left for him.

The bell rang, it was time to have lunch. So, Renaul and Jack started to pack up, but as everything was nearly ready, Jack suddenly said to Renaul, " Hey! Renaul, I guess I can't stay here any longer, gotta meet my girl at the canteen! I'm sure you can take care of the rest, Can't you? See ya!" then Jack rushed out from the dark room and left Renaul oneself working in the dark room.
Within a short time, he packed everything and walking slowly toward the student car park where he parked his car. But when Renaul has nearly had everything settled in the car, he suddenly remember that he has left the photo of that girl on the bench in the dark room. So he ran back to the dark room as fast as he could to get the photo. And just when the time he came out from the dark room with the picture holding in his hand, he felt very dizzy and fell down on the floor and stayed unconscious until ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~.

" Are you alright? Can you hear me?" Renaul heard a girl's voice and open his eyes.
By the time he saw the girl, Renaul is really in shock, because the girl stayed beside him is the girl in his friend's photo. Renaul has never saw her in such a short distance, in such a detail. Her eyes is as shining as the star in the sky of the midnight, and the faint smell of jasmine perfume emitted from her long hair. She is so beautiful, Renaul thought and look at her till she asked,
" Are you feeling better now? I think you need some water?"
Renaul nodded his head to say yes and tried to sit up, but his head is so heavy and his body seems not under his control.
The girl went out and soon came back with a glass of icy water and some towels. Then she said to Renaul,
" Here are some ice water, drink it. It will make you feel better and I had soak the towel, you can put it on your head if you wanted."
Renaul drank the ice water and start to stand up.
" Do you mind telling me your name? And how come you laid on the ground unconsciously?" The girl asked with tenderness.
" I'm Renaul." " How about you?" Renaul replied and cleaned his face with the towel.
" You can call me Cathrine, I don't mind." She replied gracefully.
" I'm not quite sure what had happen to me, but I must have scare you. I am really sorry!" Renaul apologised and looked around.
Suddenly, he noticed that he is still holding the photo in his hand. So, Renaul put the picture quickly in his pocket without Cathrine noticing.
After a short break and a deep conversation, Renaul knowss that Cathrine had just immigrated to N.Z. and same as Renaul, they both came from Taiwan. From talking, Renaul realised that Cathrine does not have many friends in N.Z. and she usually had her lunch by herself. So Renaul invited her to join him for lunch asss a company and she agreed.
From that day, the passion and love between Renaul and Cathrine became deeper and deeper as the time passed. Maybe it was due to the loneliness Cathrine has, may be it is because the tenderness Renaul has. They soon became a pair of inseparable lover.

One day, Renaul and Jack again working together and Jack asked Renaul,
" Renaul, haven't seen you for a long time, what have you been doing lately?"
" I am quite busy lately and also¡K¡K.." Renaul answered, but tried to cover up the things between Cathrine and him.
" C'mon! when did you start to act so sissy! You know I can keep secrets." Jack teased Renaul and spoke with dissatisfaction. " In facts, I have a girlfriend now and ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~." Renaul did not want to be suspiciouss, so he told Jack everything between him and Cathrine. And it seems that Jack was quite excited and grateful when he heard about the news. Then Jack asked Renaul about the coming school ball.
" I heard that school ball is coming and I had decided I am going to go with my girlfriend, would you like to come with us? Also, bring your lovely partner as well?" Jack asked with his humorous tone. Renaul thought about it and say.
" I will have to discuss it with Cathrine, I'll get back to you as soon as possible." Renaul said and that was the end of the conversation.
That night, Renaul phoned Cathrine about the coming school ball. At first. Cathrine did not think it was a good idea, but Renaul soon convinced her. The only problem Cathrine now had was the dress. So she asked Renaul,
" You said that we have to be proper dress for the ball, but I don't have any proper clothes."
" Well, I have never thought about that before. Hum ~~~~~, don't you worry about it. I will sort everything out, you can believe me and ~~~~~~~. The ball will start at 7 o'clock and I'll be at your house at 5 o'clock. I believe will have plenty of time for preparation." Renaul said with confidence.

Time went by very quickly, the day has come and Cathrine was both excited and worried because this is the first attendance of the ball and she still had no dress, though Renaul said he will set everything up. The door bell rang, and Cathrine looked at the clock on her table. It is only about 4 o'clock, who can that be Cathrine wondered. When the door were opened, she saw a delivery man with a package. " Hello, I'm Cathrine, what can I do for you?" Cathrine said.
" I am from the post company, we have a special delivery for you, would you please sign here?" The delivery man said.
A special delivery? What can it be? Cathrine was wondering.
As soon as Cathrine signed for the delivery man, she ran to upstairs where her room is and closed the door of her room. Then she opened the package with extreme care. First, she saw a big box, but as the time she removed the lip of the box.
"Oh! This is so beautiful!" A cheerful sound came out from Cathrine's mouth, when she saw the new shining ball dress. Cathrine also found that there is a card go with the dress, so she open the card and it says. After Cathrine read the card, the door bell rang again. This time Cathrine was sure who it is. When she opened th door, her tear came up at once. It is Renaul, Her beloved Renaul. She hugged him before Renual could say anything.
" What's wrong. Don't you like the dress?" Renaul asked with tenderness and started towalk her to her room.
" Oh! No, it is just that no one has ever treated me so nice. My tears are for the happiness you have given me. I am so toughed by your surprise." Cathrine spoke with great happiness.
" Why don't you try it on, I'm ssure it will looks perfect on you!" Renaul talked to Cathrine to comfort her feeling and putting the dress up for her. It is a shining milk-white pinafore dress with twinkles on it and there is also a snow white muffler go with it. When Renaul dressed Cathrine up for her, he said,
" You are so beautiful that even an angel cannot compare with you. Will you be my angel forever, my dear?" Cathrine nodded her head with shyness and then Renaul kissed her on her nose and said, " I guess we will have to go, hope we can have a good time!" The ball went on so perfectly and Renaul introduced Cathrine to most of his friends, especially Jack. They sat in the same table and really had a good time.
After the ball, Renaul and Cathrine farewell to their friends and then they went to have a cup of coffee for the raise of the sun. When they were in the coffee shop looks to the Mission Bay. Renaul spoke,
" Cathrine, do you remember the first time we met?"
" Of cause, didn't we meet outside the dark room in the school." Cathrine replied with a strange feeling.
" But do you know that I had fell in love with you long than you know?" Renaul asked.
" What do you mean?" Cathrine asked curiously.
Then Renaul pulled out the photo taken by Jack from his wallet and told Cathrine everything including the feeling he had when he first saw her on the beach.
" Now, do you believe me?" Renaul asked.
" Will you be there for me forever, Renaul?" Cathrine asked.
" Of cause, I will and I promise ~~~~~." Cathrine kissed Renaul on the lips to stop him form saying anything else. And from that moment, they both know that they are not going to break the promise forever.

Unfortunately, the good time between this two love birds did not last long. One day, when Renaul was working in a Chinese restaurant in the evening as a regular part time job. The phone rang loudly in the office. When Renaul picked up the phone, the person at the other side spoke with intense voice,
" Are you Mr. Chen? ¡K. We are calling from Hospital, we have a bad news for you?'
" What bad news?" Renaul asked with terrifying.
" Your friend, Cathrine, has involved in a fatal vehicle accident and she is now in our emergency room ~~~~~~~~~~~~." The people from the hospital said in the telephone, but Renaul cannot did not hear any word from the phone. The speaker slipped through his hand and dropped on the floor. Then he rushed to the hospital without hesitating.
When Renaul arrived in the hospital, he ran to the reception place and asked them about where the emergency room is. Then he ran to the emergency room and tried to enter it, but a nurse stopped him and said,
" Sir, I'm afraid you can't go in there, because the doctors are now performing an emergency operation for your friend." But, Renaul was not listening, all he wanted to do is to see Cathrine. After a long nervous waiting, a operation doctor came out. Renaul soon went to him and asked,
" Doc, is Cathrine all right? Can I talk to her?"
The doctor answered him with a low voice, " Mr., I know how you feel, but there is nothing we can do for her. Though you may now talk to her, but I'm afraid she won't be able to make it through tonight
." Renaul ran into the emergency with tears in his eyes. Then he saw Cathrine, lying on the bed and suffering from the injuries. He sat beside her slowly and held her hand with tenderness. Then Renaul said to Cathrine,
" Hey, honey, the doctor said you're gonna be fine. Don't worry!" Renaul was trying to comfort her, but it did not work.
" Renaul, don't lie. I know what's going on. I know for sure that I'm dying." Cathrine spoke with shallow voice.
"Don't say that, you will be fine! Don't say that!" Renaul started crying and the feeling which he kept in hiss heart erupted all at once.
" You know how much I love you! I don't want to lose you. Remember you had promised me to stay with me forever, forever ~~~~~~~~~~." Renaul spoke with sobbing.
" Don't do that, don't you remember I have promised you to be your angel forever. And now it can be true. You know I love you as much as you do!" Cathrine said it with a very peaceful tone, but tears came off from her eyes.
" Don't talk to much, Cath, and don't worry. I will be here staying with you, always! I love you!" Renaul spoke with a much calmed voice and started kissing her.
" I love you too!" Cathrine replied by using her last breathe. And the rate of the beeping sound of the pulse started to slow down. DO ~~~ DO ~~~~ DO ~~~~~~~ DO ~~~~~~~~~~~ DO ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bee ~~~~~~~~~~~.

Since that day, Renaul became very silence and always kept himself away from the publics. The only person he speaks to is Jack. As the description given by Jack, I know that Renaul has and will be in love with Cathrine forever. Someday, if you saw some sitting on the beach alone holding a picture of a girl walking on the beach, then he is very likely to be Renaul.
