A house in the country and a shiny new car A trendy wardrobe or bundle in a jar An Amazing career that fits like a glove Aren't anywhere as precious as someone to love Someone to hold you when life gets you down Who understands and erases that frown But also to argue with or disagree And exchange Christmas gifts with under a tree We can do without luxury, money and more As long as there's someone to share our front door Someone to laugh with or wipe away the tears Someone to lean on in good or bad years There's someone for everyone I am told Love is essential to both young and old Age, colour, religion, hetero or gay Love doesn't discriminate in any way People need people to survive To give life purpose and to feel alive Love is the force behind humanity The thin line between sense and insanity When all is said and done, in fact Love is what keeps this world in tact A gift to mankind sactioned from above All any of us ever really need is love!
