The stars the same for years and years
Same as the time when William Shakespeare
Stared up at specks from a ceiling top tree
Writing sonnet or tempest or thoughts running free
Those same stars stare back at both you and me
The new moon illuminates in a non-descript way
The mountain dark meadown now filled with sun's shade
We wished we tried for a second bliss night
Dreamed that together we very well might
Be able to cheat eternity tonight
A dream scattered on a second thought wisp
Of hope befuddled by a second hand kiss
Asunder under stars that could not resist
Akward eyes avoid the truth
That love could not live through the second hand proof
Time kept ticking through all of the day
Both previous attempts completely betrayed
A third night now an impossible dream
for love's dew leaves hold another one's gleam
