Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup dessicated coconut
- 125g butter/margarine
- 1 tablespoon golden syrup/honey
- 2 tablespoons boiling water
Directions
1. Combine oats, flour, sugar and coconut in large bowl. Combine butter and golden syrup in small saucepan, stir over heat until butter is melted. Combine soda and water, add to butter mixture; stir into dry ingredients while mixture is still warm.
2. Place 3 heaping teaspoons of mixture, about 12 cookies per baking tray. Press down lightly. Bake in slow oven (around 180 C) for 20 minutes or until slightly browned. Stand biscuits 5 minutes, loosen and cool on trays.
