April 28, 2003 - The land of curved glassware

Ahhh, there are surprisingly a lot of things to do when you have nothing to do. Let me illustrate. Yesterday I had nothing to do, so I decided on a whim to redecorate my room. I carted my ass down to Queen St and got some material to create an abstract piece de resistance... un chef d'oeuvre indeed... i woke up this morning and i really really loved it, as opposed to kind of liking it last night before I slept. On my way to buy material, I made a stop at Urban Mode which is the HIPPEST place ever. I got two of those curved glasses (viola and red) as Selina finally gave me the OK on that. Yay! SO the guy was ringing up the glasses and this followed:
him: Oh, I LOOOOve these!
me: Me too! My roommate won't let me get all of them though. she says we have too many glasses.
him: Honey, you can never have too many glasses!! Now me, I have every color - I have the whole damn rainbow!!
me: Yeah, see I work in Pottery Barn (in an attempt to explain glass shopping with Selina) ..
him: Oh my gosh, which one?
me: Bloor St
him: Hmm, who do I know there. Do you know Miguel?
me: Yeah, stock Miguel?
him: No honey, Miguel on the floor, he's like a flaming queen
me: Nope, don't think I've ever worked with him..
him: Oh, do you know Patty??
me: You know Patty? I love Patty!
Ahh, good times.

So then today I had nothing to do again, so I went and continued redecorating.. I sat around and read Architectural Digest (shutup.) and then I went jogging and swimming. Yup.. and I forgot to send Taylor something and his birthday is TOMORROW! SO here's my quick fix - I go and send him something in the MORNING, so that it's postmarked the 29th, and therefore I can tell him that I was thinking about him on his birthday! Yup! Genius. I feel so bad... I love this boy, he's in Taiwan for two years as a missionary which will finish in August. I can't believe two years has gone by so fast! oh yeah, and I have this horrible habit of drinking way too much water cuz I ALWAYS need to pee.

On to the 'yellow fever' thing that Marianne wrote about (as follows):

WARNING! Yellow Fever on the Orient Express!

So what is it about us Asian chicks that drive some white men wild? Shar and I were having this conversation yesterday. We don't label the men... we don't have "white fever".. it's odd!
Is it our black hair (because 3/4 of the WORLD doesn't have it! *rolls eyes*)?
Our Almond shaped eyes?
Our asian culture?
Our innocent looks?
what is it???????????
I have dated a guy who has yellow fever. That was a bad experience but lets not talk about that! :P But yes, can anyone out there enlighten me on this? What is it about us that makes us SO different from the white chicks? (To those who have yellow fever of course!) Why are we so distinguished?
This whole conversation stemmed from me and Shar's conversation about Beef. He has yellow fever too. Sometimes, he can be delirious. Not a good thing..
ANYWAYS, I was recalling his HOT Asian list and me and Shar are on it... and two others as well. They will be labeled as A.K. and W.K. But because I am feeling insane, I shall name them with Red Indian names.
A.K. = Pale Face
W.K. = Snake Tongue
There.... so Pale Face and Snake Tongue are in there too. And we're not interested in being associated with this *group* anymore. (it's more of a personal thing for me.. hehe). Don't get me wrong.. I guess they pretty in their own ways.... (honestly, with nasty characters like that, I can't locate that word *pretty*) but ah whatever. We STILL don't get the whole yellow fever thing! The only thing we have in common is the black hair and the yellow skin! Wow, try using your imagination.... black hair and yellow skin sounds like a bad hair dye and facial treatment.
So Yellow Fever... have you caught it too?

And I was thinking about it - I don't know. I mean, I think yellow fever is quite odd, really... but it's kind of like me saying that I'm not attracted to asian guys usually right? Like I have 'Non-yellow fever'? I must admit and this is quite embarrassing, that for a period of about two years I honestly thought that I was caucasian. I never told anyone of course, but I was like, 'asian'... yeah, so I'm CAUCasian! Right. Although I am flattered to be on this 'list', I also question this guy's tastes. And yes, I think he's damn sexy but let's just keep that quiet.
