Oh my gosh, Marianne and I freaked each other out soooo badly yesterday! It was just one of those days where you can't get through to anyone that you call and messages keep on getting mixed up etc. Anyways, I bought the HOTTEST phone. My poor old phone - it died a shameful death... I coudln't even remember the name of the guy that it sacrificed its life for. So Christiaan and I went to the ROM which was REALLY COOL! they have so much neat stuff there. My gosh, I am sooo gullible though. We're in the Mesopotamia area and there's this display of an egyptian woman looking in a mirror and brushing her hair. Christiaan walks up to it and is like, 'Wow, she's cute, don't you think?' I'm like, 'Yeah! Almost as cute as the mannequins in Club Monaco!' He's like, 'It's funny you should say that.. this display was actually sponsored by Club Monaco!' I'm like, 'Really??' He's like, 'umm, no... but the one on your right was sponsored by GAP...' haha... even I had to laugh at that one! Was going to head to Justin's party with Marianne cuz Christiaan had to meet up with his dad so that he could hang out with me tomorrow night and so I went to Marianne's first since I coudln't get a hold of Justin. We ended up just hanging out at her place, cuz she was packing to move apartments. Yayy! I get to design her walls. haha.. but we were talking about freaky stuff like what I call Chinese Halloween... basically All Souls Day. You're not supposed to wander the streets after sunset because that's when the spirits are out and they may possess your body... stay away from anything red because it's the color of blood... and don't wear white because it's the color of death... as in transparency. So a couple years ago, my friends and I were at the American Club in the south end of Hong Kong Island. I lived at the north end and I couldn't get in touch with my mom to come and pick me and my friends up. It was dark, and even before we found out it was All Souls Day, something just felt weird.. like when the air around you shifts. So we were the only ones left in the club except for the staff, and staying away from anything red is kind of difficult because all taxis on HK Island are red. Plus we were all wearing white t-shirts. So Sai, Mish and I got into a cab to go to my place and the whole time we were grasping this lucky charm that Mish had - it was so freaky.
So Marianne told me about her experience where she was sleeping on the third storey of a building and her bed was right next to the window. She always woke up in the middle of the night to pull her blankets back up, and on one of those nights, she had her eyes closed, and as she pulled the blankets up, she heard a kind of wailing.. operatic song in her ear... like, right where the window was. she was so freaked out, she didn't look because you never look at the dead... she had dreams of being chased by a spirit that night. The next night her roommate was supposed to return from a trip and so she was like, okay, it'll be okay then. She went to bed early the next night, and actually heard her roommate enter with another friend. She tried to get up but couldn't move, it was like she was paralyzed.. She could hear everything that was going on and after about 5 minutes she finally jerked herself out of it after praying and startled her roommate. This happened to my friend Crystal too, and the superstition is that when that happens, there's a ghost sleeping on top of you. *shiver* I actually JUST shivered. I was sooo freaked out that I had to call Parsons to walk me home because I refused to take a cab - I was that scared. Man. *mwah* Love you Parsons (to which I know he'll promptly reply, "Aww, I love me too!"). So then I came home and I was washing up in the bathroom, and Selina came home. I didn't hear a thing until she was like, "Shar?" I freaked out - I was like, OH MY GOD!!!! which then freaked her out.
Oh yeah, got the HOTTEST phone today. the Motorola V60... love it. expensive and I'm going to be paying it off for the next few weeks, but I love it. I'm taking Joy's shift at PB for tomorrow so I gotta go sleep cuz it's an early one.
