May 4, 2003 - Eat a grape of wrath

Wow. What a week. Worked yesterday then came home and was about to go to sleep at 9pm for a REALLY early night when John, my friend who I've known since forever calls me up and is like, hi, I'm coming over and taking you to a party! So yep, good times all around. Him and his girlfriend Jen who is sooo sweet came over and then we went to his friend Maria's place right next door really, in Polo Club. John's idea of taking care of me, is to make sure that I have a drink in my hand at all times. So after nearly two hours and a lot of drinks later.. and lots of drunken conversations, I thought it'd be better to get my ass home and safely into bed as opposed to going clubbing with them. Selina came home early to a very delirious roommate which I'm sure was quite amusing for her. Woke up this morning and didn't have to work after I called in for my shift, so I went running. In the morning. haha.. yep.. bummed around, went into PB to try and change a shift and was told by the general manager that they've been trying to give me more shifts lately because every time they've given me more work they've been impressed with my work. Awww... *tear*. I love that guy, Ralph.. Joy and I were talking about him and she's like, honestly, just make stuff up because Ralph does it all the time, and he's the GM so it's all good... he'll be like, and this chair is made of tobacco leaves... and the customer is like, really? and he's like, no not exactly... and they will usually end up buying it anyways.. haha..

yAY! I had dinner with Parsons. And today is braless day... double yay! here's a new picture which I stole from Parsons' page of Chris, me and Mandy at the quad party.. hehehehe...

So here's the thing. I don't understand why people offer things that they can't give or that they have no intention of giving, and I am totally at fault of doing this too. For example, calling the next day to arrange something, calling to see what's up, basically just calling.. or following through on something - like meeting up. I don't get it. We have technology for a reason - but obviously man's status of mind and logic abilities haven't progressed as far. Guys, if you say you're gonna call, then call cuz there is absolutely no excuse for not calling when you have phones basically everywhere you go. Oh yah, and the whole 'playing it cool' thing is so lame. Parsons told me that guys are nervous about calling a girl so they put it off because they're afraid of sounding stupid or whatever.. anticipation.. meanwhile the girl is on the other end getting pissed off because the guy hasn't called as well as writing him off as a loser and undependable who isn't interested which then brings up a whole bunch of other insecurities... Oddness.

Aww, and Parsons bought me dinner!!! So sweet.. he was like, I can't buy you expensive martinis but I can buy you dinner... now can I have my name back?? (eg. Christian). I continued to refuse, and so he said he would call me by my Chinese name 'Yen-Ching' which he put into his phone as 'Yetti'. Yep. Just call me Yetti. Wasn't Yetti the abominable snowman? Hmm.. now there's a thought...

Took these from my friend Steph's AIM profile:

how do you make an orange laugh?
yeh tickle its navel! hawhawhawhaw!!

The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

The Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

The Japanese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

Conclusion: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.
