Kelly's Story

Drew and I met a little over a year ago while chatting on IRC. We first met in the channel #phantasia on EFnet, but it has since been moved over to Dalnet. His online nickname is ArcHammer and mine is aphrodite{D}. At first, the two of us just occasionally chatted. Then we started to talk with each other online a lot more frequently. Eventually he started to call me on the phone. I was so excited that he actually was willing to make an overseas long distance call just to talk to me :) We spent a lot of time talking on the phone after that and have the phone bills to prove it. We dreamt of the day we would meet in real life, and on March 14, 1998 that dream came true. I picked Drew up at the airport and took him to his hotel to get checked in. The kiss I got as soon as we walked in the door was the most magical thing in the world. I knew then he was the man of my dreams. Not only was he a real life sweetie, he was adorable and romantic. Soon after that I took him home with me and we had dinner with my family. Everyone liked each other and things went well. The whole week Drew was here was wonderful. It was the best week of my life. Unfortunately, before I knew it our nine days together were gone. I dropped Drew off at the airport and sent him on his way home back to the Cayman Islands. I couldn't stay and watch his plane leave. That would have been too much heartache, so instead I gave him a big kiss and a hug whispered "I love you," and walked away. My eyes were so full of tears I couldn't turn back to see if he was watching me walk away or not. I cried the whole way home and then more off and on that whole week afterwards. Once Drew got home we told each other how lonely we were without the other. Drew promises he is saving up his money so he can move to Texas to be with me, and that every year he will visit me at least once 'til then. We both love each other dearly and can't wait until we're in each others arms again. Drew is the man of my dreams, the man I plan to marry, and the one I want to spend eternity with. He is the most special man in the whole world. There is no one else who can make me as happy as he.
