Sleet fell at a steady pace
And the mention of snow makes my heart race.
Hearing that the forecast wasn’t calling for much.
I figured we would only get the rainy slush.
To my astonishment and surprise.
To see the large flakes falling before my eyes.
The air was cold, crisp and chilly.
I watched as the flakes fell so freely.
A drive to the mountains to see more
And we got to see more than we bargained for.
I commented, “This is the start of a New Beginning.”
My memories of this first 2000 year snow are never ending.
