I made a mistake
     Of which I cannot take back.
I hurt someone very dear,
     And I’ve lost them forever I fear.
I made a selfish act.
     One in which I wish I could retract.
I confused myself as I did
     Now I’m faced with the loss of a friend.
Not enough “I’m Sorry’s”  can fix.
     I should have known love and friendship don’t mix.
I have learned that I can’t do it again.
     Not at the risk of  allowing a friendship to end.
