Not much is known about the creature, Evesbayne, and that's exactly how she likes it. What little information there is has been pieced together, here and there, much like a child's puzzle.
Simone~Claire Shaunessey was, in her eighteenth year, the belle of every ball held that season. Beautiful, charming, and charismatic, there wasn't a man breathing who didn't want her on his arm. But, times being what they were, she soon found herself an unwilling participant in an arranged marriage, a contract her parents found quite "prosperous", despite their daughter's objections.
Finding herself trapped in a loveless marriage with a man who utterly repulsed her, Simone~Claire could see no escape. Desperately unhappy, she tried in vain to alleviate the sadness by surrounding herself with extravagancies, all to no avail. 'Twas nearly a year after the wedding when she disappeared, having told her husband she was going for a ride across the moors, never to be seen by him again.
What happened? Where did she go?...you might ask. No one knows for sure. 'Tis believed she rode until she reached the shore. Standing upon the wet sand, tiny waves gently lapping at her feet, she stared out at the ocean, silver in the moonlight....as she began to walk forward into the chilly water, surrendering to what she believed was her only option, a stranger leapt in after her, stealing her from the arms of a watery grave.
This stranger, known only as "Cain", is believed to have been the First Kindred, outcast from mortal society for the killing of his brother, and cursed with eternal life, and a craving for blood. 'Tis thought they spent some time together, before he blessed her with the Embrace.....'tis known she was quick to become his consort, changing her name to reflect her new existance, and together they traveled the world, wreaking destruction and chaos upon society, indiscriminately.
Hundreds of years have passed since, and to this day, no one is quite sure what happened to Caine. Every now and again, a kindred will surface, claiming to be Him...occasionally he is revealed as an imposter, quite often he vanishes as suddenly as he appeared. 'Tis thought 'twas an argument of sorts that convinced the two to part ways, and according to Evesbayne, she has not seen or heard from him since, though she does sometimes feel as though he's watching her.
She, herself, went underground for a time....frightened by other Kindred, who threatened to end her existance, feeling she was far too powerful to go about unchecked. Having surfaced sometime ago, she is no longer afraid...now knowing herself to be one of the strongest, most powerful Kindred in the world.
