The last few months or so have been most unsettling
for young Kivrin....
Her marriage to Lord Maw dissolved, her infant daughter taken
from her...Kiv sought solace from the very man her
husband despised~~Kardis. Having always shared a
special closeness with him in friendship, their
feelings were quick to grow more amorous. In her
eyes, he shone as bright as the sun.....chasing away
her sadness, lighting her way through the valley of
night.
Despite her new found love, she seemed destined for
misery. With the return of her brother,
Beckett...Kiv soon found herself in abject despair,
and mental anguish. Beckett wasted no time in
abducting her, holding her for days, somewhere in the
fangstone mountians....torturing her both mentally
and physically and taking immense pleasure in her
agony. Lingering on the threshold of consciousness,
and believing her demise to be imminent, she was
delivered from death by Tiamak du Maduit, the
guardian of her child. Soon after, Beckett
disappeared again. Kivrin believes he'll be back
again someday for her....and she waits with a fearful
heart.
Though for quite some time, she had been unable to
see her daughter...the baby traveling abroad with
Tiamak's wife, Isabelle....'tis only recently that
things have begun to turn around. Upon Isabelle's
return with baby Luca, the young couple decided
Kivrin should be able to be a mother to her child.
They immediately moved Kivrin into their home,
welcoming her with open arms. Kiv is able to be with
her baby whenever she wishes, feeding her, playing
with her, holding her....even taking her on outings,
just the two of them. She has a say in her child's
development and upbringing. Though Kivrin is estatic
to once again be with her baby, her friends are
uncomfortable with the conditions placed upon the
mother-daughter relationship, regardless of how
lienient they might seem.
The happiness of having her daughter back, though,
did little to erase the worry and concern she held
for Kardis, missing for quite a few days without
word. Pleasantly surprised one night to find him in
the tavern, she hurried over to greet him, only to be
rudely rebuffed....her gaze was quick to find the
gauntlet once again upon his arm. The aforementioned
article is one of strictly evil intent, sucking the
life force from it's wearer, as well as from anything
it touches...it imbibes the wearer with a power not
to be reckoned with, and slowly seems to possess the
wearer, acting as a catalyst towards negative
thought. Kardis had been under it's spell once
before, as had Kiv...and she believed 'twas not his
heart which spoke to her so roughly, but rather the
gauntlet. After begging and pleading with him to
remove it, he bluntly refused her...and Kiv, feeling
as though he chose the gauntlet over their love,
walked away....distraught, and desperately in love
with him.
