PAINFUL LOVE

I wouldn't wish this hurt on anyone-
This pain you've given me.
It burns within my heart
And I wish I could be free
From the anguish and the misery.

You have caused this hurt inside
And it seems you just don't care
But I still can't help but love you
A feeling that shouldn't be there
But your leaving I just wouldn't be able to bear.

Why do you insist on hurting me?
Why can't you love me instead?
At times I'd like to hurt you back
At others--I wish I was dead
But I still love you--that's what I said.

I don't know why you hurt me
I don't know why I stay
To be hurt more each day by you
I can't seem to stay away
I just keep on loving you more and more each day...
