IN HER SHELL

In her shell she stayed
Nothing of her life she'd made
Afraid, alone and scared
Because she felt that noone cared.

Crying herself to sleep at night
Because she had a horrible life
Alone inside her shell
A place she knew so very well.

She never let anyone inside
She just ran into her shell to hide
Keeping everyone at bay
Never knowing what to say.

Locked inside a world of pain
Thinking she'll never smile again
Losing hope, she sits crying
Feeling alone, inside she's dying.

Then "he" came along and smiled,
And then her life became worthwhile.
He saved her from her shell of pain,
And made her smile and laugh again.

Thank you for the gifts you give
Thank you for my life I live.
In happiness because of you
Thank you for the things you do.

I thank God above for you
For giving me my life anew
For allowing me to make my gain
And releasing me of this shell of pain.
