Moon Goddess
As I gaze into the sky
Ours is the world that treads the line
Ours is a very difficult world.
I look out upon a shadowy world
I wrote this many years ago after my first reading of "Mists"
its more a love story than anything but thought I'd share it here
Out of the Mists
From out of the mists
From out of the mists
From out of the Mists
Now into the mists
funny enough I did know "his" name he was a former teenage boyfriend and
friend... years later... were married

at the moon, gleaming bright
I see the face of the Goddess in it's full light
I worship Her at every phase
and yet, it's when the moon is full
that i clearly see Her face
Protect me tonight, give me strength
Bless my mind with pleasant dreams
Shine down your light upon me
Keep me safe throughout the night
That line which separates those which we see every day,
and those that we see every night
Walking between light and dark
We are the children of twilight
separated, yet thrown together with the humans who don't see
the ones which do not experience or can fathom
the world of the fey
To try and connect with those around you,
yet feel so cut off
Forgetting for brief moment of laughter and mischief that we are different
but a remark, a group that excludes you
brings realization crashing back
Ours is a painful world, yet one that gives us strength
where games are played out
A kiss is the prize
that's already been won
Can you hope to win?
Is it a hopeless game,
or a true contest?
There are differences between what i think
and what i know
Which is truth?
Two figures walking side by side
Another watches, looking on
One of the figures is the prize.
Who will the other, victorious one be?
a vision comes
of a lady cloaked in black
a wise-woman, a witch
a secret soul ---
she peers into my eyes
thru those once my own
a world appears
pushing this one apart
the walls before me drift away
they vanish with the wind --
I see thru eyes once more my own
I hear my muffled cries
a man appears
bearing serpents on his wrists
he kisses the crescent on my brow
wipes the tears away --
he whispers words of love
as we watch the Lady watching
smiling from above
my love and my self
we journey deep within
I find myself myself again
I know that he still lives
I know not his name within this world ---
I love him all the same
--- Jia Starsong
holding a satin ribbon with bells on the end
dragging a tree branch behind her
and she giggled sweetly
the hem of her skirts flying
she was beauty never ending
and I loved her freely
but the storm will take her away
and i may never get her back
but what if I grow to old to see her?
and soon my child's eyes are grown?
or what if when i'm older
this goddess will be gone?
I will part with my imagination
and i will lose all my beliefs
I will be too busy
or they will tell me it is weak
to hold hands with the faerie goddess
and dance among these leaves
I may even become bitter
from holding back my freedoms
or maybe i'll just write this down
an Ode to Faerie Kingdoms
and the places that i've been
where no mortal dared to go
because the non-believers can't get in!
Then I won't become like them
and lose my innocence on a silly whim
or ever forget this clearing in the forest
where I played and laughed and danced with a goddess.
