on-line friends

Some say it is impossible to form a bond of friendship with someone you have never met.
WRONG! I have friends on-line that I can call on when I feel the need
Friends that worry about me when I am not on line, that show concern when I am not feeling well.
When I compare friends in my own hometown, they do not express as much concern as my on-line friends.
Yes, I know, on-line friendship is different from real life friendship. Yes, it is different, because we do not
judge our on-line friends by their looks, their wealth or even how they sound.
We know our on-line friends from the most important asset they possess. We know them from their heart.

On-line friends
As I see your name light up on my screen, a twinkle comes in my eyes,
because I know there is a listening ear for all the problems that arise.
I can't see your face, hear you laugh, or even see your smile,
But we have a bond, a friendship that stretches across the miles.
You are a friend that cares enough to share my joy and pain,
You have been my haven, and a shelter from the rain.
I have shared with you my hopes and dreams as I travel down this road,
And at times when it's gotten too heavy, you have been there to share my load.
And even though we are so many miles apart,
Friends like you have a special place in the heart!
